Athletics NSW Coaching Information
Becoming an Accredited Athletics Coach is your first step to developing the skills and confidence required to assist your athletes to be their best. All of our courses are engaging, educational, and entertaining, and are designed to give you a practical understanding of coaching Athletics at all levels of the sport.
The first step for a coach looking to become accredited with Athletics Australia is to attend a Level 1 Youth Coach or Level 1 Recreational Running Coach course. These one-day courses introduce the fundamental skills of coaching. There is no prerequisite to attend.
The Athletics Coaching Accreditation Framework is designed to progressively introduce the coaching skills required to develop athletes from beginner to elite. The framework is designed to allow coaches of all levels to master their coaching.
Accredited Coaches are supported by ongoing formal and informal education opportunities to ensure the quality of coaching remains high across Australia.
What are the benefits of becoming an Accredited Athletics Coach?
- Accreditation with the Australian Sports Commission through the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme
- Eligibility to be endorsed to deliver Athletics as part of the Sporting Schools initiative
- Public liability insurance
- Products Liability insurance

- Optional benefit of being added to the national coach finder on Athletics Australia's website

Athletics Australia provides a National Database with all accredited Track and Field and Recreational Running Coaches nationwide. You are able to search for a coach based on an event group, training location, name, club, level of accreditation and more.

Already an accredited coach in NSW?
As an accredited coach with Athletics NSW, you automatically gain access to the NSW coach's hub. The coach's hub will provide you access to your coaching account, upcoming courses, and access to renew your coaching accreditation.
The tabs below will direct you to the coach's hub, as well as the portal to renew your accreditation.
