| hart sport zone championships |
The HART Sport Zone Championships are conducted in each of the 23 zones throughout NSW. The HART Sport Zone Championships are open to all athletes registered with NSW Athletics. The HART Sport Zone Championships will be delivered in a relaxed competition environment.
Events will be offered in the 7s-15s age groups. Some Zones may offer opportunities in the 16s, 17s and Under 20 age groups but these are purely for competition experience and participation. Athletes in these age groups do not progress through the competition pathway and will have to enter Region and/or State directly if they wish to compete.

| coles region championships |
The Coles Region Championships will take place in eight (8) regions. The Coles Region Championships are a progression from the HART Sport Zone Championships and will be delivered in a relaxed competition environment.

Championship Pathway FAQ's
7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s & 12s (Born in 2015 - 2020)
Athletes in the 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s will have a full pathway that includes the HART Sport Zone Championships, Coles Region Championships, and NSW Athletics State Track and Field Championships. The pathway for the 12s also extends to the Australian Junior Championships
7s are eligible to compete at HART Sport Zone Championships ONLY, 8s can compete at HART Sport Zone Championships and Coles Region Championships
13s, 14s & 15s (Born in 2012 - 2014)
Athletes in the 13s, 14s, 15s will have a full pathway that includes the HART Sport Zone Championships, Coles Region Championships, and NSW Junior Championships. The pathway also extends to the Australian Junior Athletics Championships (and Australian Little Athletics Championships for the 13s).
In addition, athletes have the opportunity to qualify for the NSW Junior Championships via performance at a State Permit competition.
16s, 17s & Under 20 (Born in 2008 - 2011)
Athletes may enter the NSW Junior Championships directly.
Some Zones and Regions may offer participation opportunities at Zone and/or Region championships, but there is no progression in these age groups.
*Any athlete who fits the athlete age eligibility and is a member of any NSW Athletics Club can register and compete in the Championship pathway.
