NSW Athletics Specialist Series
The NSW Athletics Specialist Series is a collection of World Athletics Permit and NSW Athletics State Permit competitions designed to provide high-quality performance and qualification opportunities for athletes. The series includes:
- NSW Milers (distance events)
- NSW High Velocity (sprint-focused events)
- NSW Twilight (mid-week competition opportunities)
All competitions are conducted under recognised athletics rules and standards for timing, officiating and equipment.
World Athletics Gold Permit Competitions
Performances achieved at World Athletics Permit meets are eligible for:
- International championship qualification standards
- World Athletics Ranking points
- National and State Championship qualification
- State, National and World records (where applicable)
- Inclusion on an athlete's World Athletics profile
NSW Athletics State Permit Competitions
Performances achieved at NSW Athletics State Permit meets are eligible for:
- Australian Athletics Championships qualification
- NSW State Championships qualification
- State records (where applicable)
- National rankings and recognised performance lists
State Permit performances are not eligible for World Athletics Ranking points, international qualification standards, or inclusion on an athlete's World Athletics profile.
The Specialist Series provides athletes with more opportunities to record recognised performances throughout the season and progress along state, national and international performance pathways.

- NSW Athletics encourages clubs to contact us for any support or questions relating to these competitions.
- NSW Athletics is committed to supporting clubs upskill themselves in event delivery.
Such supports include;
- Officiating courses.
- Assistance with timetabling.
- Training on Revolutionise Sport.
- Training in Hy-Tek Meet Manager.
- Grant applications.
- Any advice required.
Club Competition
- Club events will be apart of the Bronze tier cometitions.
- Club events are opportunities for NSW affiliated clubs to have their event posted on our calendar page.
- These events will be hosted by clubs.
- ANSW or AA permit status will not be available for this type of competition.
There are a number of benefits to hosting these events, including.
- Opportunity to host event that you club can be proud of.
- Opportunity to fundraise for your club.
- Provides opportunities for club members and surrounding clubs to compete at more events throughout the year.
- Opportunity to upskill club members in a range of duties which can benefit local competitions throughout the year.
