How to get started on your officiating pathway?

The first step is to contact Athletics NSW's Workforce Manager to discuss how to get started on the Officiails Pathway.

World Athletics has provided an interactive online training  programme for Level 1  and the best part is you can do it at your own pace!  This will give you a comprehensive education of track and field and the confidence to officiate.

To make the process more managble Athletics NSW has spilt the programme into six stages. Stage 1 is mandatory before moving forward, but after this stage you can complete the rest of the education at your own pace as quickly or slowly as you free time allows.

Stage 1 only requires you to complete the following four (4) modules before you can start officiating to gain practical knowledge. These modules can be completed in any order.

  • Long/Triple Jump
  • Shot Put
  • The Race
  • The Start

  • work part-time,
  • retirees and
  • people who have free time during the week.
