What is a permit meet?
A permit confirms the level at which results from a competition can be officially recognised. Depending on the permit, performances may count towards national qualification, international qualification, records or World Athletics rankings. Athletes should check the event information, as permit status may vary between events and age groups
NSW Athletics (NSWA) and World Athletics (WA) permits are defined below.

NSWA Permit - Performances are eligible to be considered for qualification to the Australian Athletics Championships. |

|
WA Permit - Athletes can qualify for international and national competition, accumulate World Athletics ranking points, break Athletics NSW and Athletics Australia records, and have their performances added to World Athletics top lists (see note below). |
Note:
- It is important that athletes check the calendar page on the NSWA website, as not all events or age groups may be permitted at this level at every meet indicated below.
- Please ensure you read the applicable entry guidelines or selection policy to ensure you have met the qualifications for the applicable event.
- NSWA will also accept performances from reciprocal events delivered by other state associations.
- Where an event is not permitted, the competition is still valid and valuable, however performances cannot be used for official national or international qualification, rankings or records.
