Coaching Information
If you’re looking to enter the coaching pathway, there are several entry points to suit all levels of experience. Becoming an Age Manager is a great way to get started, offering an introduction to supporting children at the club level and learning the basics of coaching.
To build on this, the Introduction to Little Athletics Skills (ITLAS) workshop provides the next step, focusing on skill-based activities and foundational coaching techniques.
For those ready to pursue accreditation with Australian Athletics, the journey begins with a Level 1 Youth Coach or Recreational Running Coach course. These one-day sessions introduce the core principles of coaching and are open to everyone no prior experience is required.
The NSW Athletics Coaching Framework supports coaches at every stage, gradually building the knowledge and skills needed to guide athletes from beginner through to elite levels, empowering coaches to continually develop and refine their practice.
