Four-time Paralympian Evan O’Hanlon has won bronze in the 100m and long jumper Sarah Walsh placed seventh on day two of the athletics program at the Tokyo Paralympics.
Tomorrow night the delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games finally gets underway in Tokyo with the opening ceremony. The athletics program kicks off on Friday where 36 Aussies will compete across the 10-day track and field program. NSW’s first representative will be Sarah Walsh in the T64 long jump on Saturday morning.
While the delay to the Tokyo Paralympics, due to the pandemic, has been challenging for many athletes, for long jumper Sarah Walsh it has been an opportunity to make some technical changes, a move which have already shown results this summer.
We may not have seen him around our tracks in Sydney for a few years, but discus thrower Guy Henly will proudly represent NSW and Australia at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo later this month.
Six very experienced NSW athletes were today named as members of the 24-strong Australia team for the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Between them they have previously attended 13 Paralympic Games.
