Addison Fallowfield has taken her first season of athletics by storm, making history as the first Para athlete to ever represent Katoomba District Athletics.

The 14‑year‑old Blue Mountains local wasted no time announcing herself, progressing from her first competition in 2025 through to the national stage in a matter of months.

Competing as a T20 athlete, Addison made an immediate impact at Zone level before dominating at the Regional Championships in Dubbo, where she claimed a clean sweep of gold medals and set a Regional Record in the 200m, marking a milestone moment for her club.

“To see my daughter doing something she loves was absolutely amazing. The pride we felt watching her compete is indescribable.”

From there, Addison stepped up again at the NSW Junior Championships, rising to the occasion with a string of podium finishes, including gold in the Long Jump, to book her place at Nationals.

The biggest stage brought out the best in the young athlete.

After initially hesitating to compete, Addison drew confidence from fellow Para athletes and embraced the challenge, taking on the country’s best at the Australian Junior Championships in Brisbane.

Producing personal best performances and securing national silver and bronze medals in a breakthrough campaign.

In just her first year of competition, Addison has not only carved her name into the history of Katoomba District Athletics, but also laid the foundation for what shapes as a promising future in the sport.
