2021/22 Athletics NSW Awards Presented

At the recent State Championships, Athletics NSW presented many awards from our previous season (2021/22) to a number of available recipients. It was an important opportunity to recognise our athletes and volunteers who have achieved during the season 2021/22. In April the current season awards will be presented at a function to be announced. The full list of winners were announced in the 2021/22 Athletics NSW Annual Report – page 36.

Jessica Hull headlines the return of the Sydney Track Classic

Hometown athlete, Jessica Hull capped off a terrific 2023 Sydney Track Classic on Saturday night at the Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush. An international athlete line-up, headed by world 100m champion Fred Kerley, was joined on the track by Australia’s growing sprint talent, in town for a relay camp. NSW Championships: 15-year-old Chelsy Wayne shatters records winning discus

At the age of just 15, Wollongong’s Chelsy Wayne has become the youngest winner of an event at the NSW Track and Field Championships in 41 years. Competing in a wet discus circle in the rain are not the best conditions, but that didn’t seem to worry Chelsey as she spin the 1kg implement out to 49.94m.

Athletics NSW To Pilot Paid Officiating Program

Country Campbell to make Australian debut at the cross country

At age 26, Holly Campbell, the newly crowned NSW 5000m champion, will make her Australian team debut at the World Cross Country Championships. Raised in NSW country, for the last seven years Holly has shown glimpses of brilliance but progress has been hampered by injury. With enormous patience and under coach Jeremy Roff, she has flourished in the last few seasons.
