No. Permit status is important when you need a result for a particular qualification, ranking or record purpose. Many athletes can participate, develop and improve through regular club and community competition.
An eligible State Permit performance may be used for Australian Championships qualification, subject to the rules applying to the relevant event, age group and championship.
No. World Athletics recognition may apply only to selected events and age groups. Check the individual event page before entering.
Only eligible performances from approved events conducted under the required World Athletics conditions may be submitted for recognition.
Eligibility depends on the competition, event specifications and age groups offered. A younger athlete may be able to enter, but the performance may not always be eligible for World Athletics recognition.
Use the National Qualification Opportunities link or the information published for the relevant Australian Championship.
Speak with your coach or club first. You can also contact NSW Athletics before entering.
