Westfield Local Heroes is a recognition and awards program that shines the spotlight on individuals in Australia and New Zealand who make a positive impact to their local community or environment.

Know someone making a positive impact in your local community? Nominate them now for the 2026 Westfield Local Heroes Program.

Community members nominate their heroes and Westfield selects three finalists for each Westfield Centre to go through to the community vote. The successful hero for each of their 42 Westfield Centres is awarded a $20,000 grant for the organisation or group they represent, and each finalist receives a $5,000 grant for their organisation or group.

These are the four key things Westfield looks for in their Westfield Local Heroes and the organisations and groups they represent:

  1. Role models: Westfield Local Heroes are positive role models who lead by example and who are trusted and respected by members of their community
  2. Impactful contributions: Westfield's heroes’ work or actions positively impact the communities or environment within the local area of a Westfield centre
  3. Grants support the local community: The organisations that their finalists and heroes represent spend their Westfield Local Heroes grants in ways that directly benefit the community or environment within the local area of a Westfield centre
  4. Community vision: Westfield's finalists and heroes’ organisations have clear goals on how they will continue to help their local communities thrive and build resilience. Westfield looks for additional ways to work with these organisations to help them grow their impact.
