Son of Olympic Legend Dominates at All Schools
18-year-old Zen Clark, son of Australian Olympic legend Darren Clark, dominated the ACPE NSW All Schools Championships last month, claiming gold in the U19 Boys 100m and 200m events.
World Championships – NSW Review Days 5-10: Starc sixth
After a challenging year Brandon Starc placed a tremendous sixth, while there were a host of other outstanding performances by the NSW members of the national team particularly Sarah Carli, Bendere Oboya and Jessica Hull, in the steamy Doha conditions during the last six days of competition at the IAAF World Championships.

Just milliseconds the different at World Championships
A margin of 0.005 seconds or 5 milliseconds was the different in Nick Hough progressing to the semi-finals of the 110m hurdles, while for the second consecutive world championships, Morgan McDonald has missed the 5000m final by less than half a second in a race lasting over 13 minutes. While in the women’s events Bendere Oboya and Paige Campbell have been outstanding.

NSW All Schools Day Four: Delta dominates
On the final day of the four-day NSW All Schools Wollongong’s Delta Amidzovski added two more records to her tally of three at the championships, while in the men’s 1500m and 400m events we witnessed some of the fastest times in the history of the meet.

One of the most outstanding NSW All Schools athletes, Angus Beer closed his highly successful six years campaign with yet another middle-distance double on day three of the NSW All Schools being held at Homebush this weekend. The tall front running athlete from Newington College, has been a feature athlete at the meet for six years. He also departs leaving a legacy for the next wave of athletes following in his big footsteps.

But occasionally we are surprised by an unknown rising talent and one of them emerged today, when 15-year-old Roseville College athlete, Erin Shaw cleared 1.77m in the high jump to take down Nicole McDermott’s meet record.

Winkcup streaks onto team for World Championships
After missing selection in the Australian team for the World University Games in the idyllic city of Naples, steeplechaser Georgia Winkcup shifted her focus for the European summer. She would race in June at the Oceania Championships in Townsville, then head to Europe; not to compete, but for a holiday and Contiki tour. However, all that changed in less than 10 minutes on 27 June – after improving her PB by 39 sec during three races, she is now travelling to Doha for the World Athletics Champs.
