NSW Athletics Annual Awards: Administrators of the Year

On Saturday evening at the annual awards dinner, Mosman’s Camilla Lister and Sydney University’s Andrew Heil shared the award as administrator of the year. Club administrators are the leading unsung heroes of our sport. They beaver away at night completing work that is so often unseen. We can’t thank them enough for their contribution to the sport, largely at the very grass roots of the sport.

Camilla Lister – Mosman Athletics

Camilla has been an extraordinary club administrator at Mosman Athletics for 25 years where during her time the membership has trebled. She has held most of the management positions including Secretary, Operations Leader, Championships Officer, Awards Officer, Volunteer Coordination Manager, Uniform Manager, Program Manager, and Team Manager. Her most recent role, ‘Operations Leader’ perfectly suits her strengths in organisation and attention to detail, and deep involvement at the very heartbeat of the club.

In Camilla’s nomination for the award, the club were said: “Camilla has been instrumental in running Mosman Athletics for the past 25 years. She not only knows everything, but does everything. It’s impossible to imagine what Mosman Athletics will look like without Camilla at the helm, but we are to find out soon as Camilla has signed off after 25 years. Camilla’s passion for athletics shines through in everything she does for the club and its athletes. She combines this passion with steadfast project management and a love of communities. Camilla is known by everyone in our community and plays a crucial role of support in many ways. Camilla will be greatly missed and is highly deserving of being awarded the club administrator of the year.”

Andrew Heil - Sydney University

Andrew, known as Meso, has for 17 years been a Sydney University Club committee member holding both the positions of treasurer and registrar. Over the years, he has been a valued driving force on the club committee, contributing across websites, social media, event coordination, team selection, and more. Generations of athletes and volunteers know that if something needs doing, Meso will quietly get it done. He is a quietly dedicated, incredibly selfless and detail-oriented person.
