Athletics NSW is now accepting applications for the position of 'Event Group Coach' for the 2022 Target Talent Program.
Prior to selection of the 2022 ANSWTTP Squad, the ANSW TTP Program Coordinator, in consultation with Athletics NSW Management, Athletics Australia and the NSW Insitute of Sport, will select a number of event group coaches from the applications received. In selecting the event group coaches for the 2022 TTP, ANSW will consider the likely squad size and event disciplines that need to be covered, the profile and the available budget and succession planning for these roles.
(Please note that we expect to receive more applications that event coach roles available, so not every applicant will be appointed).

Possible event coach roles may include some or all of the below:
- Sprints
- Middle and Long Distance
- Walks
- Hurdles
- Horizontal Jumps
- Pole Vault
- Combined Events
- Throws - Shot Put and Discus
- Throws - Hammer Throw
- Javelin
- Para Events
2022 TTP Session Dates
- Camp 1 - Saturday July 2 & Sunday July 3rd, 9am - 4pm both days - Sydney Olympic Park
- Camp 2 - Saturday October 8th & Sunday October 9th, 9am - 4pm both days - Sydney Olympic Park
Position Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend both camps and education sessions (July & October)
- Develop and implement a training plan for TTP event specific technical training session(s)
- Provide assistance in selection of event discipline squad members
- Coach and mentor allocated discipline athletes in close consultation with their personal coach
- Willing to sign and following the ANSWTTP Code of Conduct
- Willing to implement any Athletics Australia National TTP Curriculum items
- Complete and submit a session plan to the TTP Coordinator (prior to each session)
- Complete and submit the Athletics Australia Target Talent Program report (following each session)
- Provide continuous feedback and assistance to the program TTP Coordinator throughout the program
- Track and collate TTP squad members progress and results throughout the year
- Communicate directly with TTP squad members are required
- Provide a 'coach profile' to the TTP Coordinator to be published on the ANSW webpage
- Source an elite level athlete to attend technical training sessions and work with event group athletes.
Essential Requirements:
- Hold a current Athletics Australia Coach Accreditation Level 2 or above
- Hold a current Australian Working with Children Check
- Have completed an ASADA Level 1 e-Learning certificate
- Have completed a current 2020 ASADA Level 2 e-Learning certificate
