Sports Integrity E-Learning Courses

Education is key to proecting the intergity of Australian Sport. Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) and NSW Athletics in conjunction with Australian Athletics are committed to working together to mitigate and manage integrity threats to provide a safe and fair environment for participants at all levels of sport. 

The education plan has been developed in partnership with SIA, who will support this plan through the provision of educational resources and interventions as and where possible. The sections below outline the required and recommended education courses for all members of NSW Athletics to facilitate compliance with the National Intengrity Framework policies.

Courses to be Completed

In alignment with NSW Athletics’ ongoing commitment to upholding sports integrity across NSW, it has been agreed that all members of the NSW Athletics community are required to complete a series of online courses provided by Sports Integrity Australia. Outlined below is a list of both mandatory and optional courses relevant to each role within the community.

Team Members must complete the courses two weeks before the first day of competition.

National Championships

At National Championships, it is likely that Sport Integrity Australia will be present and will be undertaking random or targeted testing. It is the responsibility of the athlete to familiarise themselves with the anti-doping testing protocol and procedures, should they be selected for testing. Without understanding the process, undertaking the testing protocols can be a particularly daunting experience for the athlete.

At the same time as your child selected in a State Team is completeding the Sports Integrity Courses, parents and guardians and encouraged to complete the Parents' Guide to Clean Sport; this online Sport Integrity Australia course is designed to teach parents of young athletes about the Anti-Doping rules, doping risks, healthy sport culture, nutrition and the risks of supplement use.
