Run Festival results to decide junior Winter Premierships

This weekend’s new event on the Athletics NSW winter calendar, the Run Festival, has added incentive as points will contribute towards the 2018 Winter Premiership. To be held on Saturday at the popular Upjohn Park venue, in the central Sydney suburb of Rydalmere, the Waratah Run Series event will decide some junior championships with just a few points separating them. One age is the under-16 girls where just three points separate the three leading teams.

This is the final points scoring opportunity for the junior ages. For the masters ages, they have one more opportunity, the NSW half marathon and for the opens, there are two final opportunities to add points in the half marathon and marathon.

Points allocated will first – 25, second – 20, third - 18, fourth - 17, etc

OPEN AGES – current status

Men – Bankstown A 138 points, Sydney Uni 135, Athletics Easts A 89.

Absolutely down to the wire in this event. This weekend is a key opportunity to score points for the two leaders.

Women - Sydney Uni 140 points, Athletics Easts A 89, UTS Norths A 40

Sydney Uni have won this now with a 51-point lead.

KJs are safely home here.

Another win here for KJs.

Still relatively close race here.
