On Tuesday December, 30, 1986, 29 years ago today, a purposeful Vilis Gravitis strode from Wynyard station to the office of the Amateur Athletics Association of NSW. It was his first day as a volunteer in the office in Carrington St, Sydney and managed by the long standing Executive Secretary Clive Lee.

UTS Norths dominated the 2015/16 Treloar shield, claiming all three age divisions and the overall title. Some individual age division places were very close and only decided in the last round held on Saturday at ES Marks Field at Randwick.

Action packed final Treloar Shield

The final Treloar Shield of the season had it all. We saw season starts by four key Olympic hopefuls, a breakthrough performance from Lora Storey, world junior qualification action from Bella O’Grady, while Nick Andrews went close, a five-year NSW best in the triple jump from Ben Cox and an emotional tribute from Nowra club members running in memory of their late-mate Harry Scouller.

Aged just 21-years-old, promising NSW athlete Harry Scouller died from an epileptic seizure on Saturday after hitting his head falling in the bathroom of the flat he moved into the same day.
