The overall performance of the Australian team, and particularly the women, in the Rio Olympics proved our athletes can be competitive with the world. Maybe that new belief is starting to filter through in the results at the Hunter Track Classic with a range of upset results highlighting good depth in many events. On that occasion he won the junior (under-19) javelin with a throw of 49.02m. Yesterday in Dubbo, 53-years later, he was still winning, taking the 70+ years javelin with a distance of 32.37m.
