Campbell and Carey outstanding at the World Cross Country Championships

Campbell and Carey outstanding at the World Cross Country Championships

No doubt inspired by the recent announcement that Australia will host the next edition of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, the Australians have recorded their best team result in 10 years at the championships. The open women’s team, which included two NSW athletes were fifth in the race – the highest place by any Australian team since 2008. In the junior race, Lauren Carey, 15, placed a brilliant 16th the highest place by Aussie for 10 years in this event.

Sydney University 21-year-old Rohan Browning has stormed to the equal fastest 100m time by an Australian on home soil and the fastest by an Aussie for 12 years when he clocked 10.08 to win the 100m at the Queensland Track Classic. Athletics NSW CEO Appointment

Athletics NSW CEO Appointment

I have great pleasure in formally announcing that we have a new CEO for Athletics NSW.  After a lengthy and robust process (one of the best I’ve been involved with), I can announce that Kirin Lindop has accepted the position.

Kirin has been involved with the sport of Athletics since she was 9 years old.  She was a national High Jump Champion but more recently has been a distance runner.
