WARATAH RUN SERIES
The Waratah Run Series is a rebranded and remodelled set of XC, road races and relays events. These events are for participants of all ages and abilities, and focus on participant enjoyment and on the day entertainment. Formally known as the ‘Athletics NSW Winter Series’, the Waratah Run Series is a community based social event incorporating a championship event.
If you are looking for an event to dip your toes into this winter, then look no further than the new Run Festival on Saturday August 4 at Upjohn Park, Rydalmere. Hosted by the West Metropolitan Cross Country club, the site is home to a fantastic series of cross country courses that have been the home of distance runners of all ages and abilities for many years. There will be food, activities for the kids, and captivating race callers at the event on the day, and it promises to be a great day out for families, juniors, open athletes, masters of all different running backgrounds.

2:00pm - All Ages 1km, 2km, 4km, 6km
2:40pm - 55+/65+/75+ Men and Women 4km
3:10pm - U20, Open, 35+, 45+ Women 6km
3:40pm - U20, Open, 35+, 45+ Men 6km

HOW TO ENTER

On the day entry is available at the registration desk. An on the day entry must be submitted at least 30 minutes before the start of the race.
Members are to be registered with Athletics NSW (or other state member association or Little Athletics NSW) for the 2017-18 season and wear their club/centre uniform with their bibs worn front and back for the duration of the event.
Non-members are eligible to enter however only ANSW registered athletes (or other athletes registered with another state member association) are eligible to receive medals in State Championship events.
All runners will receive a new Timing Tag on the day, to be worn at the Run Festival.
Please note that no tags previously issued to ANSW members may be worn at this event.
It is important to note that the Number on the Timing Tag will not match the number on the Athlete’s Bib.
All runners will be required to report to athlete check in at least 45 minutes prior to the race start time to collect a temporary timing tag. This tag must be returned at the conclusion of the race.

This event is not a NSW Championship and as such no medals will be awarded.
FOOD, BEVERAGE AND ENTERTAINMENT
This event will include on the day activations such as jumping castles, food and drink stalls, captivating race callers as well as entertaining music.
NSW WINTER PREMIERSHIP & WINTER TROPHY
Races included in the Run Festival will be point scoring events towards the Winter Premiership, Winter Trophy and Distance Runner of the Year. The age groups and race distances are as follows:
U12, U14 - Waratah 2km Event
U16, U18, 55+, 65+, 75+ - Waratah 4km Event
U20, Open, 35+, 45+ - Waratah 6km Event
Click here for age-gender form. This form is to be used by clubs who wish to create teams with members who do not fit naturally into the team. For example an 55+ woman who wants to be in an 35+ club team should be listed on this form, and the form submitted BEFORE the race begins.
The non-championship races are offered in the following age groups: U12, U14, U16, U18, U20, Open, 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+, and 75+.
