Level 2 Advanced Coach, Part B - Sprints, Hurdles & Relays.

This is the second Part of the Level 2 Advanced qualification in the Sprints Relays and Hurdles event group. 

In order to undertake this course, you must have already completed Level 2 Advanced, Part A.

A mix of practical and theory, Part B offers a variety of skills and drills to develop the technical model in all sprint events. This specific event group focuses on developing your coaching skills in the areas of Sprints up to 400m, Starts, Relays, Short Hurdles and 400m hurdles.

This course is ideal for those wishing to specialise in the area of Sprints, Relays and Hurdles and working with athletes aged 12 and up.

Pre requisites for to be accepted into Level 2 Advanced Coach Part B include Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach, having already completed Level 2 Advanced Part A, or hold a Level 3 coach accreditation in another event group.

The 'Level 2 Advanced Coach' Course gives coaches the opportunity to begin to specialise in either 'Sprints, Relays, & Hurdles,' 'Middle & Long Distance,' 'Jumps,' 'Throws,' or 'Race Walking.' The course comprises of two days of face-to-face training in addition to pre-course and post-course assessment.

Level 1 Run Leader

The 'Level 1 Recreational Run Leader' Course introduces how to lead a recreational run group under the guidance of a Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coach or higher. In the course, participants learn the fundamental skills of running and how to design the warm up and cool down components of a session. 

Topics include the introduction to training runners, encouraging long-term participation, the design of warm-up and cool down, fundamental skills of running, running training elements and how to successfully lead run groups.

Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running

This course trains coaches to develop the fundamental technical and strategic skills for runners training for 5km through to ultra-marathon events.  It covers topics such as warm ups, session planning and designing training programs. The course also develops the coach’s skills in managing groups of varied skill levels from novice through to elite. Pre requisite for the course is the Athletics Australia Level 1 Community Coach course.  RCC for Level 1 is available for qualified Cert 3 or 4 personal trainers who are taking the Recreational Running Coach pathway.
